Sure, it was romantic, but really hard on attendance. Gave me nostalgia for the days when I showed oil paintings on sheets of acrylic plastic. Really indestructable. Showed well in the snow and rain. Anyway, the hard core sellers were there, and the buyers were a hearty lot of art patrons.
SP-SAM will be counted a real success when weather will have little effect on the numbers. I’m thinking 2009-10 season. The vendors who stick it out good times and bad will benefit in a number of important ways when the governance of the market becomes an artist-run co-op!
